Big Moose Coffee Co: Coffee and Cake for a Good Cause

Big Moose Coffee Co is a not-for-profit coffee shop located in the heart of Cardiff City Centre, known for its ethical practice, with all profits reinvested into good causes. With the intention of “leaving the world better than we found it”, Big Moose are inspiring people to live "better, healthier, kinder lives". Big Moose helps the homeless and other disadvantaged people get back into work and society. They have two homeless employees that are not named or differentiated from the other staff, and are well-integrated into the team, given the relevant training and private counselling.

The staff are really friendly and the food is fabulous, freshly made and full of love. Big Moose have an extensive food menu, with breakfast, bagels, topped toast, omelettes and French toast available. Their smashed avocado bagel, which not only comes with avo, but bacon, tomatoes and mozzarella is absolutely delicious and is definitely worth a try. The Italian toast (mozzarella, tomato, pesto and parma ham) is also delightful.

Everyday at Big Moose you can buy freshly baked cakes and bakes, and their Victoria sponge, Créme Egg brownies and Millionaire Mini Egg shortbread are all to die for. Walking through Cardiff and feeling peckish? Why not pop in and get one of their fresh bakes to take away? Not only are you getting something delicious, you are also giving to a good cause! A 2 in 1!

On my next visit I definitely fancy trying either the eggs benedict or the sweet banana french toast.
